Semedrian Smith, E-RYT-200, is a yoga teacher, writer, and political strategist living in the DMV area. Semedrian's yoga journey started as a recommended solution to help ease her back pain after an athletic-related spinal injury over a decade ago. Her yoga journey has taught her to believe in yoga's power to heal our minds and bodies, leading her to the mat to find calm amid chaos or the answers she needs for life's challenges. Semedrian intends to equip students with practices to aid them on their journeys to be their best selves, achieve their goals, and make a positive impact on the world around them. Her classes synthesize intuitive movement, breath, and mindfulness. Her classes balance introspection and physical strength, are multi-sensory and multi-layered, and are curated to cultivate resiliency and alignment of mind, body, and spirit. She believes in honoring each student's yoga journey by creating an inclusive, accessible space that encourages curiosity, self-discovery, and healing. Semedrian's teaching style is informed by multiple schools, including but not limited to Ashtanga, Bikram, Yin, Mandala, and Kemetic Yoga, as well as a regular meditation practice. Semedrian received her 200 YTT (Ashtanga Power) with Mimi Rieger, DC, and 50 Hr (Yin) with Yael Flusberg.
